ABOUT CROSSFIT CARBON
ABOUT CARBON
We are a fitness and wellness facility dedicated to the pursuit of excellence through Community, Effective Coaching and Fitness. But, we are also much more…we are a tight knit group, a community of diverse and remarkable people supporting and encouraging one another to be their best self each day, both in and out of the gym. Carbon’s programs are more than just an effective way to workout and get in shape. The #Carbonlife is a way of living life to be your best. This includes training your body mentally and physically, as well as eating appropriately to sustain an active lifestyle.
IS CARBON FOR ME?
Yes! Carbon is for people of all age. We help improve the lives of everyone from children to grandparents and all in between through fitness and fun! Carbon programs are universally scalable so everyone can participate. We do movements that you do in your everyday life, such as standing up and sitting down, picking things up off the ground, and putting things over your head. What this really means is, in addition to helping you maximize your athletic performance, we will also help you be better prepared to tackle any daily challenges you may face – from unloading groceries to carrying your little-one down a flight of stairs. We just make sure you do it safely, effectively and efficiently. This is what makes Carbon so special. No matter your abilities or experience, our coaches will tailor the workouts just for you. Whether you opt for small group classes or private one-on-one coaching sessions, we are confident you will reach your full athletic potential, and have fun in the process.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE COMMUNITY?
Lots of things separate Carbon from other programs, but most important is our unique and supportive community. People join for the fitness, but stay for the long haul because of the friendships and bonds they develop within our walls. Aside from building better human beings, Carbon works to develop a community of like-minded individuals who support, encourage, motivate, and assist one another in reaching their personal goals. In fact, the communal aspect of Carbon’s programs is a key component of why we are able to be so effective. It’s not uncommon for an intense training session to be followed by a full on ladies night, bro-session, or both combined! Community is what we are about, we are a strong community working together toward our goals, united in fitness!
WHAT IS CROSSFIT?
CrossFit prepares you for whatever life may throw your way. Our workouts are designed to maximize your results in the gym and improve your quality of life outside of the gym. The CrossFit program delivers a brand of fitness that is broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. We are generalists. At Carbon, you will learn how to safely, effectively and efficiently squat, lift, press, run, jump, row, throw, and move your body through space. The workouts are challenging yet rewarding. We will help you realize your human potential, and each day that you enter, you will leave better for it.
TRAIN ALONGSIDE THE BEST
My first introduction to CrossFit was by a friend who recently joined the Air Force. It was an eye opening experience that immediately changed my outlook on exercise/fitness forever. As it turns out “Fran” was my first WOD (workout of the day), 21-15-9 repetitions of thrusters and pull-ups. Considering myself a pretty “fit” person at the time, I was quickly d realized that there was an entire world of fitness out there that I needed to learn more about.
I started CrossFit in December of 2009 and found that I loved the diversity of the workouts and the community aspect of the life style. In high school and college I was a cross-country runner and after finishing college I started experimenting with marathons and triathlons. I am EXTREMELY excited to be coaching CrossFit and enjoy working with people of all levels and abilities.
I started CrossFit in July of 2012 after trying to find something other than cardio for my workouts. I loved the ever changing workouts and the community that you gained from the gym. In high school and college I played volleyball and I have always enjoyed all competitive sports.
I started Crossfit in July 2015 and was instantly hooked! The sense of community was addicting and I loved the different workouts. No day is ever the same! I have always been passionate about health and fitness, so it is an absolute pleasure to now be in a position to coach. Helping people reach their fitness goals, all while having fun, with the support of such an amazing community is incredibly rewarding.
I started CrossFit in 2011 and joined CrossFit Carbon in 2013. I was active and athletic growing up but had gotten out of shape during college and graduate school. After graduating, I joined a gym and worked with a personal trainer but was bored and not seeing much progress. Upon starting CrossFit I fell in love with the challenge of each workout, variety from day to day, and the sense of community in the gym. My life and fitness goals have evolved over the years but CrossFit and the amazing and supportive community at Carbon are a constant.
I joined Crossfit in June of 2017. I’ve always been the type of person who likes to do a little bit of everything, and the variety Crossfit provides is perfect. I exercised at a local gym in highschool and continued through my first year of college. At that point I was bored and looked to the crossfit community for the next step in my fitness journey. I love Crossfit because it has shaped my mind, body, and health for the better. I am super excited to share my passion for fitness and wellness as a coach at Carbon.
I started doing CrossFit in 2012 and moving properly has been one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned. Six years in, I made the decision to become a coach to share what I’ve learned and to help others achieve their goals. Weights and cardio are an essential part of being fit, but I believe the real work happens between the workouts.
I am all about good vibes, positive energy, having fun, and living life to its fullest. I try to bring that mentality to class everyday. For the hour or so you are at Carbon my goal is to make it the best part of your day.
I spent my H.S. and College years doing classic/standard weight training to stay in shape and build muscle. Eventually the limited variety in workouts and lack of community became boring and mundane so I switched over Triathlon training. After a few years swimming, biking and running it culminated with the completion of my first Ironman Triathlon in September 2010. I missed the weight training aspect of working out but enjoyed the cardio so a friend recommended CrossFit.
Growing up I played competitive soccer through high school and was generally active by swimming, running, mountain biking and just being outside. However, during college and my early 20s I let my career take precedent over my health and by my late 20’s I found myself living an extremely unhealthy lifestyle, overweight, and lacking physical strength.
